Your Permanent Makeup Journey
The Consultation
First of all I’ll take care of you!
The first part of the permanent makeup process is a consultation. I like to talk to you beforehand to explain in detail the process of the treatment.
Once you have made a decision that this is something you wish to proceed with, it is helpful that you email/WhatsApp a clear picture of your brows, eyes or lips (depending on treatment) and a description of what your expectations are.
Consultation forms can be completed either online or at the consultation and a patch test can be carried out or posted to you. From this we can see if you are suitable for the procedure.
The Patch Test
A patch test will be required at least 12 hours prior to any treatment. This ensures you are not allergic to the products used. If you do have a reaction such as swelling, rashes, irritation or skin hardening then please call me to discuss this.

The patch test takes just a few seconds using a lancet. I will pierce the skin and apply some pigment that will be used during your treatment. This will feel like a small scratch and could be performed when you have your consultation if you choose to go ahead with a procedure.
The Treatment Day
On the day of your treatment, we will talk together in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and what I might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. I listen, I respond, I advise. Once we have an idea of the look you are aiming for, I will draw the brows, lips or eyeliner on with a makeup pencil. These can be drawn on and adjusted 50 times if necessary!
We will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with what they are going to look like.

Using a specialist facial tattooing machine, which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine, I will gently apply pigment to the skin using very fine needles. The sensation is that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin – you feel the vibrations, but you should not feel any discomfort. I will always work with you at this stage, giving you breaks if you need them.
The process normally takes about 1-2 hours, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. Immediately after any treatments you should expect the area to look 20-30% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after 3-4 days.
Following Your Treatment
A second appointment is needed 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. This treatment is included in the price. This is usually a 15 – 60 minutes appointment to add more pigment to the brow, lip or eye area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal, and everyone heals differently.
Whatever the case, I advise you always to come back to clinic for your retouch. Before and after photos will be taken.
A colour boost appointment is recommended every 12 to 18 months to maintain the best results.
